Bespoke Digital Agency moved from its long-time offices in Bamber Bridge, Preston to the new 8.4m Strawberry Fields Digital Hub in Chorley at the beginning of 2021.
“We reacted very quickly in the first lockdown both to restructure the business and to begin consulting with our team about how hybrid working could work successfully for our agency in the long term,” explains Co-founder & CEO Steve Brennan.
“As it happens Bespoke had already been making plans to move from its Bamber Bridge HQ to the new digital hub in Chorley and it worked well for us that the move was able to take place during the lockdowns.
“We were able to design a new office environment where staff are able to come and go as they place and where there was much more space between individual workstations when social distancing measures were in place.”
But the move from Preston wasn’t the only reason Bespoke has posted its best-ever results, as Steve explains.
“We also used the lockdowns as a bootcamp for our own business. We’re used to running strategy sessions for our clients, and planning how their digital marketing can improve over time but we have rarely done it in the same depth ourselves.
“We realized there is a set of our services that is essential to all of our B2B clients – Digital Strategy, Performance Websites, and Ongoing Marketing – and we restructured our offer around those.
“We also adjusted our messaging to be very clear – Bespoke is a digital marketing agency that generates leads for service and manufacturing sector businesses in the north-west and London.”
“The result of reshaping the business like this was that we saw very little drop in sales during the pandemic and the performance of the agency has improved consistently as we have come out of it.
“Best of all we have seen increases in performance of our marketing campaigns for clients too so across the board we are generating a consistent flow of online leads for the businesses that work with us too, so everybody is happy.”
Bespoke was founded in Preston, Lancashire in 2001. In 2016 Bespoke opened a base in London too, and by 2020 almost a quarter of Bespoke’s revenue came from the London area.

In addition to posting record sales in 2022, the agency has also been working on creating a great working environment for its team.
“We recognized early on that while there are lots of advantages to working from home the novelty would eventually wear off and most people would actually value a balance with plenty of human interaction.
“So we decided our whole team would be together twice a week. That’s been highly successful, we all look forward to those days and we always have lunch as a group and catch up with one another.
“It’s really important – people aren’t designed to spend the day in box rooms at home. We need exercise and good social interaction for our mental health so we made sure those elements were built into our new working practices.”
Bespoke has achieved Investors in People status in each of the last two years. The agency recently extended its lease at the Strawberry Fields Digital Hub in Chorley, Lancashire and is on course for another successful year in 2023.
